I gotta tell you — even though I thought I had seen every single possible kind of stupidity which falls within the signification of stupid, nothing, and I mean nothing prepared me for this.
The secretive Magi Society (which I have heard from a number of well-placed sources is really nothing more than the latest venture of Henry Weingarten, formerly of 666 Fifth Avenue in NYC) is trying to find common cause with the likes of Pat Robertson and James Dobson. Now referring to him themselves as The Christian Guardian’s Fellowship, they have announced that “Evolution is nothing but a hoax.” The site basically says that since the Magi visited the baby Jesus in the manger, and because the Magi were astrologers, astrology can prove that, according to the Bible, the universe was designed by an Intelligent Designer. Then (as any good salesperson will, they ask money question and immediately answer it):
At the Christian Guardians, we believe that astrology is much like most other things. Just as there is good and bad in almost everything else, there is bad astrology and there is good astrology.
You must be wondering what has any of this to do with Intelligent Design?
We talk about all this because we have discovered a way to disprove Darwinism by using good astrology, and we have improved Intelligent Design by using good astrology. The astrology we are using is the astrology of the Three Wise Men who foretold of the Bethlehem Star and successfully followed it to Christ’s birthplace. The Three Wise Men were MAGI and their special form of astrology is called Magi Astrology.
Magi Astrology is so different from any other form of astrology that 95% of Magi Astrology contradicts other forms of astrology. The beauty of Magi Astrology is that it disproves Darwinism and proves Intelligent Design. Magi Astrology helps to move Intelligent Design to the very high level needed so that Intelligent Design can make accurate predictions about genetics, the weather, and other areas that presently baffle scientists.
If you proceed on and read the material on this website and our other websites, we promise you what you read will improve your life, help you to believe in our Savior, and you will see the world in a much brighter light than ever before.
Isn’t that sweet? Of course, all this definitely comes from the goodness of their brotherly-loving Christian charity.
Of course none of this has anything do with the legal judgement levied against this same Henry Weingarten:
3.19.2002 A final judgment was entered against Henry Weingarten by a federal district court in New York, who had been charged with failing to disclosing certain conflicts of interest to clients. Mr. Weingarten, according to the SEC complaint, had purchased $75,000 worth of U.N. Dollars stock for his advisory client accounts. He failed to disclose in Part II of his Form ADV that he had been paid 250,000 shares of U.N. Dollars stock to promote the company’s securities on Mr. Weingarten’s Internet site and in his newsletters.
Mr. Weingarten was also censured by the SEC and ordered to provide prospective clients with a copy of the SEC order for a period of one year.
More details on Henry Weingarten’s difficulties with the SEC here.
Well you are certainly well read, and you know your way around the internet (and the legal library for that matter). Thanks for the good research (I’m guessing some Scoroio planets).
Anyway, I have had some dealings with the Magi, and they are very infuriating to say the least. There are some real jems in thier world – but, as you point out, they are quite crazy. But the one thing that they do very well – better than Tarnas – is create impeccable tools for research.
Anyway, I’m not selling them by any means. Just thanking you for getting under the surface of this matter. IMHO groups and societies are mostly just a big power hungry cluster fcuk. If you know what I mean. I rarely like how they run themselves.
Be well-
AstrolgyChick
Henry Weingarten is Jewish and I have known him carnally in the ’70’s and later followed his tracks through the astrological community.
The idea that he is head of a Christian fundamentalist group like the Magi Society is laughable.
Truth is, George Wu, previous manager of a large mutual fund is behind the Magi Society. He is Chinese, not Jewish.
Your links provided no evidence that the Magi Society has any connection with Henry Weingarten. He certainly is not their head. In its publications, the society itself claims to have roots in 17th century China.
I can verify that LibraLove is correct when she says the Magi Society is run by George Wu who did manage a large mutual fund at one time but later founded a very successful hedge fund. I know this from first hand experience since we both live in New York and I just met him last night at a Christmas banquet he was hosting for his hedge fund clients at one of the best restaurants in this city. My date was one of Wu’s clients and everyone at the table seemed to know George Wu an astrologer (this shocked me since I never knew anyone used astrology for predicting stocks). I am pretty sure Wu is or at least was the head of the Magi Society in the US. I never heard of the Magi Society before and I am now doing research about it. That’s how I found this blog. Hope this helps get to the truth.
As I heard it, the Magi Society was made up of Shaolin monks (those are warrior monks, by the way) who left China after Mao came to power, for Hong Kong, and then left Hong Kong for Singapore, when the Chinese took over from the British. So far as I know, they’re still in Singapore.
(Most of Shaolin stayed behind in China & are still there. The Magi people are only a fragment.)
Best I can figure out, they’re getting on in years & want new blood, so they came to New York looking for members. They are not looking for Americans, but Chinese. Presumably from New York’s Chinese community. I had many reports of people trying to become members, all of whom were rejected. Regret I never had contacts with NY’s Chinese, so cannot say anything more in this direction. I thought NY’s Magi community folded c.2000.
I can confirm that Henry Weingarten is Jewish, as I worked for him for four years in the late 1980’s. So did Rob Hand, back in the 1970’s. When I knew him Henry was not a practicing Jew. Given what I know of him, I doubt he ever will be. He is your typical Leo, self-centered.
I can also confirm that Henry got into trouble with the government, as I have heard the story independently, and I was personally on the scene when he got into financial astrology, c.1988, as I reviewed many of the books he was trying to sell. To the best of my knowledge he has never been at 666 Fifth. Which is otherwise a legit address.
Very, very, very unlikely Henry would have anything to do with fundamentalist Christians (or fundamentalist Jews, for that matter). He’s far too smart for that, and, as a Leo, he would never settle for second place.
Overall this looks like a completely garbled story. Which, by the look of it, is true for most of the stories on this blog.
Henry Weingarten has nothing to do with the Magi Society and the Magi Society is alive and well. I have been a member for more than a decade and the rumor-filled article on this webpage is rubbish.
It is an honour to be accepted into the Magi Society.
And no, you do not have to be Chinese.
I’m a member and I am Australian.
Hahahahaha… Christina. It’s an honor if you wish to give up your 2nd Amendment rights and talk like a fundamentalist Christian.
The reason I made a comment on here, is because Dave seems to think that the Magi Society will only allow asians to become members and can’t understand why some people are not accepted.
I am a member and I’m not asian.
Libralove thinks it’s hilarious to feel honoured when you are accepted by a group of highly intelligent and honourable people and given an opportunity
to learn from them.
But you can all mouth off about the Magi as much as you want because the truth is, they aren’t going to read any of your comments and even if they did,
like me, they would probably express their very low level of interest by offering to give you 50cents to ring someone who cares.
Christina said she “feel honoured when you are accepted by a group of highly intelligent and honourable people and given an opportunity
to learn from them.” Who are you kidding? You work for them. They’re anything but honorable and intelligent. They’re a fundamentalist, Christian cult with an agenda to ostracize and condemn others who do not subscribe to their warped ideas and astrological viewpoints. It’s a totalitarian regime run by a Christian Chinese man who was born, living and graduated HS in Communist China, until he came here to work on Wall Street and get an online college diploma. My experience with him and TMS has been anything but good and honorable.
I think it’s contemptible that anyone who wishes to have their “research” taken seriously would actually make people pay money to see it. I did so, however, and in my opinion Wu’s ideas about astrology are crackbrained and his knowledge of research principles practically nonexistent. But some people with believe anything if it’s sufficiently mysterious.
If the Magi Society actually sold their research files or gave access to their members the research would be all over the internet by now and it is not. There was an offer in their first book in the 90s but the research was never made available. I have been a member of the Magi Society since they started up and the post above is complete nonsense.
That sounds like them, Spock. I wonder how that mysterious hedge fund is doing? I do not recommend their software either as it’s not yours even if you paid for it. You’re a member, and not a customer. Therefore, they can withdraw support, key codes to reinstall after a crash, and refuse to allow you to continue as a member if for any reason they do not like you or your religion or lack of it. They are fervently against agnostics and atheists. They are members of the ‘flat earth society’, in other words, ‘creationists. Avoid them.
So are you saying that this Wu dude made up this Magi system. Is it just rubbish. Was about to sink $1000 for a reading, which I have been collecting for some months, as money for me don’t grow on trees. Anyone else have anything to say about this system, I would be grateful. How about the Cinderella aspects. The book seemed interesting when I read it,
someone lent it to me, so I do not have the name of it anymore.
You can book a reading for less than that and well worth the money. Go to the Magi Society directly and click the Contact Us link at magiastrology dot com and then check the box for the official info on consultations. Rates are between $150 – $200. The prices may have changed, but I had a session for $180 late last year and it was totally awesome!
Oh my.
So many petty people on this site criticizing the Magi Society for the most unimportant things. I am certainly not one of them.
I am so grateful that the Magi Society does the best research into astrology and has developed so many useful techniques that actually work and has been good enough to tell us about some of their many discoveries.
The fact they charge for their software instead of giving it away for free – well obviously
there are many lazy people on the Internet trolling for freebies. But you get what you pay for and I for one find Magi Society software worth infinitely more than they charge. It has helped me to find a great paying job that I love.
Thank you Magi Society for everything you do.
You’re a shill, Tyson, or very naive.
TMS sells memberships, NOT the software that comes with membership. Since the software does not belong to the buyer, TMS continues to control the usage of it. They will track your URL and see who’s logging onto their site and buying their memberships so you are constantly tracked for your loyalty to this sham cult-like group.
Therefore, TMS can revoke the use of their software at anytime and refuse to replace or sell future upgrades to a previous member who speaks negatively of their practices. Beware! They are a fundamentalist cult, extremely unkind and with very poor public relations in general.
I have the names of people who were burned by them for hundreds of dollars of software. You only get to ‘borrow’ it. You do not own it and you cannot back it up without getting new key codes from them if you have a crash.
Hateful people, The Magi Society.
Tyson Handel is right; too many petty criticisms over non-issues by petty people. The Magi Society is a very respectable organization that offers the very best serious astrology research and excellent astrology tools. I have been a member for more than a decade and will continue to support the Magi Society since it has always dealt fairly with me and the many reputable people I know who enjoy access to the most accurate astrological knowledge on the planet. There is probably a very good reason someone can’t get replacement software or renew their membership. Thank you Magi Society for maintaining high membership standards and for everything you do.
George Wu came from Communist China. He does not like anybody to say anything he doesn’t like. If you do, you will never get an update or replacement software from a crash. He is a very right wing Christian, and he does not believe in the First Amendment, so be warned.
I am so happy and grateful to have a membership in The Magi Society. I personally consider the The Magi System to be the “Cadillac” of all Astrology Software systems. I have over 20 years’ experience reading charts and this is the best!
NO ONE that has experience &/or knowledge of astrology can take seriously the BS that comes out of the Magi Society. They basically take complex astrological concepts, dumb them down to where a child could utter them, and claim that *they* came up with this secret magical knowledge!
PURE BS for the gullible! if you want to be a fool easily parted from your money, then you have found a ripoff that will part you from your $$$.
The knowledge is out there for FREE on the internet. It is also in books you can get fro free from your local library. And dumbing it down to where it is useless is not a secret from long forgotten monks (that were NOT known for doing astrology–BIG inaccuracy to claim they did).
Don’t be Gullible, don’t fall for this pure BS!
I agree. All of my dealings with the Magi Society have been professional and courteous. They have never tried to ‘sell’ me on any religious or political ideology.
Magi society made lot of money on stock market this is on their website so makes sense to listen to these people and not be jealous of success. I came across Magi while surfing internet and joined while being upset of not finding good things with traditional astrology. lady in Magi office was very polite and patient when I hav many many questions. I learn useful things by being member and bought financial programs too. Very excellent software very kind people. Recomend magi to all astrologers everywehere
Have owned Magi Astrology software since 2005 and never had any issues whatsoever with membership or software. The software works on Win 7- Win 8 and 64 bit systems unlike some other astrology software out there in the wild because the Magi Society stays abreast of the latest technology.
Legitimate software companies have license agreements and the right to refuse service. Software theft is a serious problem in the IT industry and this company takes steps to prevent rogue users which is fine by me
I have found the Magi’s info on Cinderellas, Chiron, Juno, Saturn balance in relationships to be amazingly accurate.
Have only been a member a short time but find the Magi Society refreshingly open to thinking outside the box and while I don’t know whether I’ll ever have enough time to master it all, it certainly has aesthetic appeal and that makes it appealing in itself.
I enjoyed the books tremendously, learned so much from them, and I treasure them.
I am very happy to give my recommendation for membership in Magi Society to everyone. I joined the Magi Society to obtain ongoing knowledge to help my family and friends take advantage of their best times while avoiding not so good times. But I have learned much more and use the software every day–could not get by without it!!!.
The Magi Society has helped deepen my understanding of astrology – given me insights into myself – and taught me enough about financial aspects & planets so that I more successfully trade the markets – The Magi Society’s financial astrology lessons are excellent –
For more than 10 years I have had regular consultations and I joined too – it has been a very illuminating journey –
6 pro Magi Society replies in 1 day! to a thread THAT HAS RUN FOR *YEARS*…..no, that’s not a coordinated response by the owners/scammers that run TMS 😉
Personaly, I had a serious health problem with conflicting recomendations from medical professionals and was at the end of my rope but with the help and advice of an expert Magi astrologer I talked toin their office I chose the right doctor and correct treatment at the right timeand recovered without a drastic operation that may have left me an invalid . I am very lucky to be a member of the Magi soceity as they have been a Godsend and will forever be gratefull for the FREE help and support that was given to me when utterly hopeless. I wholeheartedly support the Magi Society and am blessed to be associated with people w/ a real heart.
IT guy: “Legitimate software companies have license agreements and the right to refuse service. Software theft is a serious problem in the IT industry and this company takes steps to prevent rogue users which is fine by me.”
The issue is, people CANNOT own their software, so every time you have a crash (common on PCs) you will have to get all new key codes to even reinstall what you’ve already paid for and have the original discs and serial #s for. They are NOT a software publisher. They disallow paid for reinstalls from crashes. It’s rigged from the day you purchase ti to allow for only one install EVER, so they think they can control the speech of those that own the software. Say anything they don’t like and your purchase is lost. Cute, huh?
It’s a quasi-religious membership cult and if you speak anything about their bad practices — you will never be able to use the software you already paid for EVER again. Very bad customer relations. Then this group of shills ALL posting on the 2nd of August 2012. Hahahaha…
Who do you people think you’re fooling? Yet another example of the under-handed and shady cult practices of The Magi Society.
Of course I mean’t 2013. Avoid these people if you believe in free speech.
LibraLove who is not very Loving: It is obvious you cheated the Magi Society and were blocked from access to software and membership.
Why don’t you just keep your pack of lies, personal vendettas, biases, and nasty bigotry to yourself?
wow MagiLover, censor ppl much? Let LibraLove give us info, or are you against FREE SPEECH?!
You will never see them at any astrological conference — EVER. Why? They claim >10,000 chart research which is always kept secret. They don’t understand that ‘research’ is only anecdotal unless it is shared with the astrological community to allow for peer review. They are very primitive, backward and unscientific. Beware.
You are wrong–the Magi Society lectured at an ISAR conference in California.
LibraLove
You are wrong again.
The fact is that during a group discussion by actual astrologers someone mentioned there were numerous nasty, libelous and inaccurate remarks about the Magi Society on this webpage.
Some members of the Magi Society that believe in fair play decided to set the record straight.
Most of the nonsense posted on this website verges on malicious slander.
LibraLove is not only wrong she has never spoken at an astrology conference and is not exactly an expert. She brags on another forum that NCGR threw her out. No wonder.
LibraLove distributed copyrighted material to that forum which is against the law, as is slander and libel.
You are so right Ann and Bob. Thanks for telling me about this.
Yes, LIbraLove aka SharonX is the same person who blatently shared copyrighted material on the internet like the sleazebag she is.
LibraLove is the same person as SharonX and is also known as Gae X ( I should post her real name) and uses other fake names online to create the pretense that other people share her demented opinions. Check all the posts on this page..makes you think, heh?.
No matter what name she uses she is a vicious, unpleasant, unsavory witch (spell that with a capital B) with limited astrological expertise. She apparently has nothing better to do with her time than spread malicious rumors and post her predjudicial viewpoints anonymously anyplace that doesn’t have a moderator to boot her off.
No one cheated her out of anything—-the word is that she bought software and when it quit working 8 or 10 years later she threw a fit. By that time she had burned her bridges and keeps on burning them — she ran off many nice, knowledgeable people from one unmoderated online group and no one in their right mind believes a word she says.
No fit was ever thrown. You’re lying. I was very polite with Magi Bette and was told I could NOT get new key codes for re-installing my software after a PC crash because the software was too old. So then I said I’d pay for an update. I even gave her my credit card info for the upgrade, but no software ever came.
Truthspeaker, you are a liar also. Typical Christian hypocrite — truthspeaker is a liar and a TMS are supposedly Christian who never forgive or offer kindness, but expect special reverence and respect.
I was basically black-balled because having worked in US software for many years, I still run software from the ’90’s because I own it. I expected the same from TMS. I paid for it with a serial number, so I still run it and reinstall after any crash into eternity or as long as I have an old box to run it on.
The Magi Society (TMS) is a closed membership group where you do not own the software you have paid for, and if you have a crash which happens a lot on a PC, you may lose your right to re-install the software if you are not reverent enough or say anything contrary to the glory and promotion of The Magi Society.
Ann, I have never distributed any material beyond a paragraph with due credits given of where I got it. Prove it. I was never banned from NCGR, I stopped my membership of the NCGR when Rob Hand’s medieval bunch took it over along with Joseph Crane who can only handle about 6 objects and some rulerships at a time. (“Muddies the waters” he claims)
Then the national NCGR group became fractious and some people like on the NCGR Yahoo chat group started laughing at people who used asteroids and other bodies not visible from their back porch.
The only person who ever banned me was Nadine Harris on the NCGR Yahoo group, but NCGR has since removed her from using their name and running a group called NCGR, where she promoted posts from her RI buddies and let other posts languish in her moderator’s holding folder.
It was never a real NCGR group to begin with, Nadine slammed it up early on and made herself the owner/moderator where she favored her brand of medieval astrology and poked fun at all other styles/systems like the ones I learned in NYC for 15 years at Pace University NCGR weekends and conventions. They deposed the witch at one point since she was running her own brand of NCGR on a site with their name on it.
I still say to TMS, “Where is your research? Give better customer service for your software that people pay a couple of hundred $$$ for and ditch the creationism hogwash, and you might gain some favor back.”
Astrology should be marching toward science and not backward to interpreting a handful of objects. At least the Magi Society has started exploring some of the asteroids I was following in the ’70’s with Zane Stein and numerous others like Dr. Lehman.
I own astrology software from every astrological software publisher and know the people’s names who create it, sell it as well as provide service for it. I have not problem with any of them (except a few bothersome bugs). They still get my money every time there is a worthwhile upgrade.
The Magi Society just does not operate like any other US software publisher that I’m aware of — even Microsoft lets you reinstall your XP if you have your original disks and serial certification page/sticker.
I still have my original Magi Society DOS disks used now as coasters. I was an early adopter and used their software regularly. Now I find other software to get to the same data sorts primarily Solar Fire and IO Edition, so no huge loss. I’ve moved on.
The Magi Society PR and customer appreciation stinks and they’ll never make it in the astrological community which has been fractured by Arhat and a backward turn into old-timey visual astrology. I have a huge astrology library and read charts daily, so I really don’t care what you think.
However, software buyers when spending a few hundred $$$, need to know, if they are not extremely circumspect, and if they say the wrong thing or are critical of The Magi Society precepts or theories BEWARE. They may disallow your further use of their software.
‘Members’ will be expected to “follow” obediently and NEVER question TMS or their beliefs. This, BTW, is exactly the opposite of the way the scientific community operates, so we’ve gone back in time, into a cult who punishes and is punitive, not forward into the future where researchers share their research and wait for any rebuttal from others working in the field.
Suggestion to LibraLove – you obviously cheated and tried to give your MS software away to a someone and got caught and now you have a vendetta against the MS. The society has been selling software for 20 years and it was certain to run into an asshole like you after 20 years. I have installed their software on four computers which is really generous. You are obviously unemployed since you have nothing better to do than slime the MS. Why don’t you just shut the hell up and let people who want to learn astrology discuss astrology on this forum instead of having to read your crap. Amen
You are the perfect “The Magi Society” member, K Larson. You make up lies and have a hateful, cruel streak that fits their modus operandi perfectly. Congrats! You’ve made my point about them and their special brand of ‘Christianity’. Birds of a feather… fit well together.
LibraLove you bragged online last year that you ordered new software — more than one person protested directly to the Magi since
I sure did –Loudly– and waited in line to do so.
your posts are ridiculous –it is not Magi ideology or Christian beliefs that made you persona non gratis. It is your own doing, don’t kid yourself
you offend people, then are insensitive or stupid enough to think they should kowtow to your demands, but if they don’t, you spread malicious rumors to retaliate
If, as you say, you have ‘moved on’, then do so.
Libralove is here to make sure people in the small astrological community know how you and your closed group operate. Say something they don’t like you/or your cult members will make sure they take away their license to use their paid software. The 2nd amendment is NOT valid in TMS group, so WARNING people. She is not the only one who fears their retaliation for some innocuous remark or a belief in science vs. fable or meanings of different asteroids or symbols. Buyers beware!
Anyone notice how someone speaks out about this TMS group and all kinds of people come on with ‘different handles’ to beat her up and spread lies about her. Just like school bullies on a playground and online, try to kill her or make her kill herself. Make her feel bad that everyone hates her… and on and on.
You’re “Christians” alright — a cult of hateful, vindictive ones. Good luck with that in the software marketplace. Now people will know so much more about how you people operate.
AstroSandy or LibraLove, as the case may be, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet but in your case a troll posting under any other name is still a troll.
Anyone can see that you are the same person. You can change your name but you can’t change your BS.
Isn’t it funny when someone tells a bunch of lies they accuse other people of doing the same thing the minute someone calls them out on their lies?
The Magi Society is certainly not a cult–no one ever said anything about religion to me or asked me to pledge allegiance to any creed and legitimate members like myself install software on more than one computer– you are so full of crap you should post as John.
You must have been thrown out years ago for a very good reason because the Magi are fair. Now you can’t get back in. So that’s just too bad. Suck it up.
If you ever actually had a legitimate beef you would have had legitimate recourse through appropriate channels, but obviously you didn’t.
your idea of “scientific community” is probably derived from “carnal knowledge” of a scientist
go crawl back to your dismal hole and have carnal knowledge of yourself
Vic, IT guy, Truthspeaker, MagiLove, Bob or Ann (all one and the same) etc.)
Interesting how a whole bunch of you all posted on Aug 2, 2013, because you stumbled on this site and can make any name you wish for yourself and multiple posts under different names.
You’ve once again made all of Libralove’s points. You’e full of hate, prejudice and meanness. You and TMS are unkind and unjust. Everyone can now read your official TMS words against someone you don’t agree with. No one can now deny what TMS promotes and what may happen if you become a ‘beloved’ member.
You are the tea party thorn in the side of the astrological community anti-science, anti-women, anti-sexuality, etc. – suicidal like a Allah loving bomber to take us all back to the ziggurat. You go, guy!
You only have a license to use MicroSoft or other software–just showing your ignorance again LibraLove/SharonX/GaeX
–like a drivers license a software license can be taken away.
Funny. I used to complain about Microsoft (MS) all the time on developers blogs — how they kept slipping the system to prevent competitor’s software from running under their OS. They were a software developer’s nightmare in the early ’90’s (I was a developer). The US anti-trust people finally got tired of their shenanigans and hammered them with a BIG, well-deserved fine.
Even so, MS never took away my rights to run their software I’d paid for, so… Guess their skin is just not as sensitive as TMS’s. So you bought yourself a PR nightmare as did MS, which has lost big-time to a better, more elegant OS. Karma’s a bitch.
And then this blog coming up #1 in Google when “The Magi Society” is searched, can’t help TMS, since it’s not very flattering when you attack your long-time good paying software customers like you’ve done here.
You’d think she was some Chinese software outfit knocking off softwrae CDs and selling them worldwide.
You’re approach doesn’t work in retail, but might be OK for a closed membership club. Oh well… Cie la’ vie… Good luck with this approach of yours to customer service and appreciation.
The point is that software is licensed, not owned. An operating system such as Windows 7 is licensed, and maybe the license says you can install it on as many computers as you like but it is not fair to compare that to licensed proprietary software in a private organization.
Different licenses have different terms and conditions.
A license states the terms and conditions of use. A software vendor can limit the license to a stated number of installations, or license software for a one time use as a trial version or provide unlimited installations.
Limited licenses are not unusual in the industry.
You accept the terms and conditions or you don’t.
Any developer should know this.
Cute FTP is one larger software company for example that refused to provide more codes to me after a certain number of installs–there are others. I bought an online recording program 5 years ago that will not work on my Win 7 computer but the upgrade version wasn’t free. Nor would I expect a software vendor to give me a free upgrade after 5 years. I have paid for upgrades to Corel 3 times in 5 years, because it simply wouldn’t work on newer systems.
And of course I paid for Win XP and Win 7 — MS didn’t give me anything free just because I had Windows 3.1 in the 90s.
Nice attempt at excusing yourself regarding TMS software’s anti-customer license agreement. Everyone take note. I only needed to re-install on one old XP box that had crashed, that I’d been using for years, but buyer BEWARE.
When I was told my MagiSoft version was too old to re-install and the key codes no longer worked, as you’ll have to call up for permission and new key codes with any crash, so then I gave my credit card info to MagiBette.
She said they would “wait for a *special astrological date* ‘based on the stars to fill my order”, then send me a link to retrieve it. I realized after waiting a couple of months there had been no intention to ever do so.
It upset me, so I decided I would make sure all future purchasers know what might happen to a software investment of a few hundred dollars if they did not “walk the walk and talk the talk” of TMS doctrine and pedagogy.
I know other people who have had less than kind experiences with TMS as well. The people running this outfit have a very unique approach to their students and software purchasers — you may be “black balled” over little and “freedom of speech” is NOT allowed in any forums or classes. You will also never see a list of their Board of Directors, owner or anyone. You may only know them by Magi Helena or Magi Bette or Magi Kirby (who was also black balled).
The software was not even really worth what I paid for it – since I suffered through many years of bugs since I bought their very first version on diskettes, until I received each newer, less buggy version.
I use each astrological software I buy for different graphic data sorts. I work in science graphics and have for many years where I have to display sometimes unintelligible data into easy to read graphics so scientists can be able to quickly interpret data meaning at a glance.
If you know “The Visual Display of Quantitative Information” by E. R. Tufte, then that sort of work has been my career since the ’80s. I am outspoken, having been raised in highly religious, cruel and restrictive Lubbock, TX, and now work in science publishing, so science people are not all that wild about astrology and vice-versa, so I use aliases on some groups.
I need to keep working in science, but if you read here, they’ve even threatened to give out my name since they have it from my credit card info. They can be cruel and seem hate filled from my experience.
Much to my surprise the nice people at Alabe.com have software (Solar Fire) that does everything I need and more, so I just buy their software. They’re a professional software publisher, who realize that the astrological user group is small, so they need to be nice to everyone and helpful and therefore SELL MORE software.
For those into ‘symmetrical astrology’, “Nova Chartwheels” by them is excellent, if a bit buggy, as it’s not even reached 1.0 ver. yet, but I support them by buying updates regularly and think surely they’ll get to 1.0 before the decade is out.
Good luck with a purchase of TMS software. You’ll likely be OK as long as you don’t speak out about anything or mention any bugs or errors of astrological interpretation. FYI: They’re like a man who wants NO help whatsoever finding their destination when they’re lost or any suggestions when they get something wrong. They’ll slap you, disallow your software license, then crawl back into their cave under cloak.
jumpingjackflash makes good point that software license has rules and all are different. i have lots of expired or obsolete stuff too or free stuff that screwed up my computer. magi programs have ok license as far as i know since i never read the things but always runs and gets updated and that is all i care about. i never have problems with membership or software . sorry and sad someone says they did. time heals all wounds
If, as you say, you spoke to Magi Bette and gave her a credit card number but then did not hear back, why didn’t you call her again to check up on the status?
Why instead have you created a public spectacle of yourself without first simply trying to resolve this like a mature adult?
Or is it that you did something wrong or said something embarrassing and are too ashamed to contact the Magi Society directly again in person?
Hey silly one. Magi Bette said I’d “pissed off some Magi in NYC”, so she wasn’t sure if they would allow me to pay for the update and get my software back or not. They expect reverence, obedience and total acceptance of anything they say/promote/post online or your software ‘license’ is toast. Got that? That’s good for beginners eager to be indoctrinated, but doesn’t work for someone who knows better and believes in democracy and free speech.
The thing is, they came into the astrological community (July 1995) which thrives on allowing for various systems, beliefs and theories based on thousands of years of astrological research and experience in reading data charts and pretty much said it was all hogwash and started trying to re-invent the wheel. Then they tied Christianity to the wagon.
They had some good new theories based in Chiron aspects, etc, but went way overboard swapping Uranus and Saturn meanings in the beginning and a bunch of other stupid mistakes that I pointed out, and got black-balled for.
Astrology is more akin to science than it is to religion, as it began along with and connected to math, geometry and astronomy, The Magi Society tied it up to their religion and Christianity, which is a travesty. You also need to swallow their entire bucket of hogwash or they disallow your membership and software license.
That’s OK. I refuse to kowtow to their brand of BS astrology and I have plenty of other apps to do what I need. They should have added their principles to the ones that already are known to exist and work, instead of trying to re-invent the wheel. Stupid!
I have always been against bigotry and issues where freedom of speech is not allowed. Having been tortured by Christians in the past, I have no intention of staying silent while they make a mockery out of astrology which has been relegated primarily due to religions, to a lost and persecuted science.
I belong to the Magi Society and am grateful to learn useful astrology techniques not found elsewhere but in more than 20 years in the astrological community I have never run into the kind of bigotry and prejudice displayed here. This isn’t an astro forum but an anti-astrology blog erected by a pseudo-intellectual who planted innuendo, lies and gossip, then ran off to hide, and it has now become the soapbox for malcontents and mischief makers.
Any person of authentic spiritual awareness would not support the dissemination of hatred much less engage in Christian-bashing in light of Benghazi and the continued threats to US citizens especially Christians. Promoting hatred of Christianity in any form is how Hitler began persecuting the Jews and demonstrates the kind of mindset that was the catalyst for 9/11. The anti-Christian fanatics continue to kill innocent people and put our troops as well as civilians in jeopardy every day.
If you hate-mongers had a husband, son or daughter protecting our country and in danger every day you wouldn’t be criticizing anyone for their beliefs.
So go ahead and enjoy free speech even when it isn’t speech worthy, but there is at least one person on this page who should be ASHAMED for disseminating hatred and acting as a tool of terrorists.
We not only have the right to free speech but the right to freedom of religion in the US. in case someone forgot.
Yes, Margery (or is it Magi #43), and that includes FREEDOM FROM RELIGION! And allowance for a belief in science and evolution over fables and B.S. That’s what our USA freedoms are all about!
Your buddies with their anti-sex and female hatred issues are radical, Maybe you’re part of that relgious bunch who attacked us. Maybe you want Libralove to wear a hijab and refrain from sex outside of marriage. YOU and TMS are the real bigots.

Saturn: “It governs scientific thinking and whatever is contrary to Judeo-Christian traditions.”
Saturn also rules deceit and whatever is harmful.
“It is also representative of revenge, selfishness, and narrow-mindedness.”
Glad to see you’ve finally swapped Saturn back from the meanings you originally had which were for Uranus. So you’re finally learning some Western astrology. Way to go!
The Magi Society’s interpretations for Saturn are AWESOME! They are right on the mark. If I had the interpretations years ago I might have avoided a lot of problems and problem people..I bought ALL the interpretations and hear that more may be coming…all of the interpretations are excellent.
i get a lot more for $55 a year with membership in the Magi Society than from any of other organizations that only send out newsletters or make me pay local and national dues -i get software that is very good and really like the interprets so is a much better deal . i ‘d rather have software than newsletters anytime though they have articles and stuff on their website too
the only thing kind of weird is i have to ask every year when is dues due cause they don’t send bills but that’s ok
i don’t have any problems with Magi Society they save me money
The Magi Society has my vote of confidence even though this organization has always been controversial. But being controversial is not necessarily a bad thing. I like the fact that they perform independent study and don’t rehash the same old inaccurate and useless pseudo “facts” about astrology based on superstitions. The Magi astrology system is very useful and well worth studying. It makes a lot of sense and has made me a much better and more observant astrologer. As Paulo says you get what you pay for. The recent government shutdown and turmoil was so easy to predict using Magi astrology. It is a good thing the organization is openly Christian since I so often face people who say that astrology is the work of the devil and once I show them this is a devout group they reconsider their stance and are willing to look at astrology. Then they are awed by the great pattern before our eyes.
“I like the fact that they perform independent study and don’t rehash the same old inaccurate and useless pseudo “facts” about astrology based on superstitions.” Magi Sheila wrote, or is it Sheila M.
I gather you’ve been drinking TMS Kool-aid. The problem is, they don’t share their research data and they claim they’re the ONLY true astrologers, which is ludicrous. With their system, they’re only one course of a 8 course meal, I could not read anyone or any event, with only the limited system they use.
I’ve used the declinations which were spoken/written about way before TMS ever arrived in NYC and published anything. Kt Boehrer spoke/wrote about using declinations 4 or 5 decades ago, as did Alice Portman. However, TMS write like they invented using declinations to determine events and people’s talents/inclinations.
The youngsters and newbie astrologers who follow TMS, don’t know any better, so they’re perfect for indoctrination.
exactly sharon X !
If someone doesn’t have a good knowledge base of astrology, they could be deceived by this BS the TMS claims is theirs or that they invented/discovered.
If these devotees of TMS actually knew a little about astrology, they could see how laughable the TMS claims of exclusive knowledge truly are.
Yes, declinations have existed since the earth was formed, as a matter of fact. Kt Boehrer derived her work from Charles Jayne. The Rosicrucians, Robson, Alan Leo, Heindl, and the Church of Light used declinations long ago. The Magi Society also uses declinations.
Where is the research data for all those people and groups? If SharonX doesn’t personally have access to research does this make any body of work any less valuable or valid?
Newbies and youngsters should be made aware that there are narrow-minded people who dabble in astrology and pretend to be experts, and apparently spend their time spreading poison online because they are gripped by an insane grudge and obviously have nothing better to do.
That’s nice, Magi Ambrosia. However, TMS is a part of the astrological community and that so-called ‘research’ of theirs has never been made public — to the general public OR to the astrological community through a journal or article. Normally ‘valid research’ is published somewhere.
Unpublished research is only anecdotal and that’s a fact.
“Insane grudge”? Hahaha… It’s TMS, who as devout Christians harbor an insane grudge against Sharon X, who lost use of her software because she questioned and did not agree with everything they promote or say.
Anonymous online attacks and smear campaigns are usually based on lies and that’s a fact, too.
A legitimate cause for complaint would have been addressed through appropriate channels and a person with a legitimate complaint would have used a real name.
It is a fact that SharonX and LibraLove are the same person and used other fake names on other anonymous anti-Magi posts.
And where are the ‘real names’ on the Pro- Magi Society posts here? Do think we believe that HogwashWasher is YOUR REAL NAME?
Pot-kettle hypocrite.
The Magi Society published 3 really good books and 100 s of articles on their webpages and their techniques work– —-actually amazing—that’s good enough for me
Other astrology was not relaible and never showed research either but I knew that there had to be something to astrology so kept on looking –bought the love/money book —- it changed my life.
Hey Joe, I had been constipated a lot until I read an article on Scientific American that said that onions, garlic and leeks replenish good intestinal biota. Cock-a-leekie soup weekly. Constipation gone. Amazing!
It changed my life. 🙂
Wow! I rarely post on forums but decided to jump in, simply to add some balance to one person’s distorted viewpoint. I stumbled upon this “discussion” and couldn’t be more amazed at how some people seem to have an inexhaustible amount of time, emotional energy and vitriol to try to tear down a valuable organization.
I would completely agree that it seems like “Libralove”, “Sharon X” and a few other postings all seem to sound exactly like the same person :-).
I am certainly no insider and do not personally claim to know the Magi founders. Yet my long experience as a Magi member has been nothing but positive with regard to their software and support (and yes, I’ve had to transfer it several times when various PC’s died). Also, this lady seems to be really splitting hairs when it comes down to her definitions about what SHE thinks is the ONLY way software should be sold, marketed, used, etc. She is obviously stuck in some emotional / mental time warp and just comes off as really bitter (for whatever reason). I never trust people who are so completely negative (and power driven) and hope she can somehow find a way to move on with her life into more positive directions.
FWIW, I do not self-identify as a “Christian” and I have absolutely no idea what she’s talking about with regard to her claims about the Magi being some scary, Christian “cult” type organization. I have NEVER felt that they were trying to impose their world view upon me, and certainly never as a pre-condition to becoming or remaining a member. If that were the case, I would not be involved. To me, that all sounds like someone trying to make mountains out of mole hills and just makes Libralove/Sharon X (or whatever her real name is) sound like a complete whack-job!
Finally, I will say this about the Magi system of astrological interpretation: Their information, books and software have resulted in some truly AMAZING (and inspired) insights that have extremely practical value, particularly in the area of interpreting the complexity of relationships. I might quibble about their style in terms of how they present the information on their websites (not unlike a star-obsessed, Hollywood e-zine :-)). But my strong sense is that their ideas have had a dramatic, long-term impact upon modern astrological thought that has greatly transcended the previously limited interpretations of traditional astrology. Even some of the newer, competing astrology software now includes Magi concepts and principles which is a testimony to their impact. Unless one has truly studied the Magi techniques in depth, they will never know the amazingly useful and practical value that it offers. I have found it to be an extremely worthwhile and valuable study…
And nobody has ever asked me to say positive things or paid me a dime to express my opinion – I just hate to watch one person try to dominate the discussion with negativity. But more importantly, this is just how I think/feel about the positive contribution of the Magi to astrology.
I just wish that the Magi Society would come out with some newer, updated books!
Truth Seeker,
I’m simply onto what TMS is up to in their software ‘membership’ scam. I have friends who have suffered the same fate as I — loss of the use of their software for pointing out an error or misconception TMS have promoted.
In one case it was a personal attack directly from George Wu over total illogical nonsense by email after purchasing several hundred dollars worth of their software. The email has been made public on a few groups of an example of how TMS treats their software customers and students. He was a fully certified Magi also. TMS are also quick with the call from one of their lawyers for the least thing they perceive as stepping on their toes.
They also do not like any questioning of any astrological rule they promote online. You must never question them, their precepts, or their research, or you too will lose your software. You’re a ‘sheeple’ and obedient, Truthie, so fear not.
However, all science depends on open discourse and argument combined with proofs and the publishing of research. TMS are totally against this. Their method requires obedience as their members try to get up to speed on traditional Western astrology combined with modern asteroids.
They are indeed a right wing Christian-based cult who promotes anti-science. I work in science, so I consider them primitives who try to condemn science to the dark ages while promoting their punitive fable-based religion combined with astrology. They’re a disservice to this wonderful symbolic language.
http://www.benevolentdesign.com/astro_genetics/astrology_genetics.htm
If they were not such a closed, secret group and would come out of their closet with openness, kindness and generosity, they might thrive. However, it is they who are bitter, negative and condemning. The general American public will not buy into their self-righteous punitive dogma and sketchy software license.
I have software from every Western astrological developer. TMS just shows a different style of graphic for Longs and Deks, but it can easily be done with other packages without disallowing use of hundreds of dollars paid in for software based on whim of someone at TMS, who disagrees with something you may question or say online.
Good luck! Sharon X
FWIW: Here is an example of what the Imperious Ruler George Wu will do if you ask for software key codes after a crash and you’ve done something foolish like to start any astrology chat group and invite Magi society members. Once a Certified Member, you’re only allowed to help others learn ONLY Magi Astrology as per this email from the owner to a former Certified Magi and member:
“Please email us back promptly that you will refrain from directing any Magi Member to any site, entity or product that is not a part of the Magi Society and that in the future you will ask for our prior permission to direct any Magi Member to any non-Magi site, entity or product.
Thank you,
Magi Master George Wu,
Director of Certification
Magi Society”
This is a matter of record and deposition can be given to the validity of such a command and hundreds of dollars of software was disallowed and my software also because I speak out about these negative practices. Nice folks TMS, huh? Communist China operates like that.
Good luck, TMS members. Watch your step!
Sharon X
I am new to Magi Astrology and very interested in it. Im looking over my two marriages and other friends who’s charts I have to see how Magi Astrology stacks up to what happened in these relationships.
One question though I would like explained to me, how can such slow moving planets like the outer planets, chiron etc be used in such a person way when generations of people would all be getting the same effect? For example Neptune square or trine Pluto or Chiron aspecting Uranus would all be experienced by the many people of that generation. Are we have mass falling in love or break up of marriages??!
It all depends on how those positions connect to your chart and the positions of those born with those positions. Yes, different generations have different signatures and share placements of the outer planets. And yes people with outer planet signatures will share some of the meanings in their generation. However, there is constantly moving 7 other planets as2 planets stand in aspect for a few months. Then all of them will affect your chart a bit differently as your combination and ASC-MC will vary from many others and then there is locale. They don’t work much with locale.
You need to join one of their groups if they’re still around. They’ll track your ISP and ban you if you question them too seriously. Bow deeply when asking questions. They seem to have gone silent lately and seem to be working on the learning curve many of the asteroid watchers of the 70’s-90’s were exploring. The Magi’s seem to feel the need to reinvent the wheel instead of springing off the work and research of other traditional and modern astrologers prior to their work with Chiron.
They still don’t believe that Chiron is also a ‘wounding’ if it’s connected up to Saturn for example. I have read charts of many horrible accidents, bombings and murders not to know that Sat-Chiron is severe wounding. But they persist in their religious fairyland that Chiron is only sweetness and light made for marriage and children. Ha! Put Chiron with some malefics and you’ve got some serious mayhem.
TMS says Chiron Saturn is bad…. which is the same as what you’re saying. Sooo… I’m guessing you have very poor knowledge of their teachings, bc thats one of the well known aspects that they talk about.
I’m starting to think those who are busy bashing this organization haven’t even taken the time to read the tons of free info they have on the internet.

I truly think this blog needs much more consideration. I will probably be again to read much more, thanks for that info. My bestie wants to be a mentor in this topic someday. Thank you. I just by luck found your website. You are absolutly a professional.
Is there new news. I discovered your articles via Twitter while searching for a related topic, your post came up and I am glad it did
Why so many bitter people against the magi society? … so sad, such powerful knowledge and ppl are too closed minded to take advantage of it. I personally love everything about it, and I’d be angry too if ppl make up false facts to slander me. For example, someone commented that TMS are flat earthers. LOL you can’t be an astrologer and believe the earth is flat!! LOLOL Bitter people are so funny!
